Swouncing

Happily nobody is here today so I can put them back together in peace

Now I'm imagining flea sewing, knitting and crocheting people back to un-torn forms. But not like what they did with puppet-Angel, more crafts-like and in more colors to the faces, too.

Um, I mean, hello not-so-new thread!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I do have today off, which is why I'm still in my pajamas. Today will be spent watching tapes and DVDs.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Timelies, everyone.

I'm still in pajamas, too. Right now, I'm drinking hot chocolate and making breakfast (baked eggs with spinach and artichokes -- I've got a whole ton of spinach and artichokes to use up, and I was getting sick of poached eggs every day.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Crazy Japanese gameshow videos roundup

JWZ and his readers are compiling a list of links to crazy Japanese game-show/variety-show videos, like the one where girls strap meat to their heads and then try to sit still while being charged by carnivorous lizards, the one where men in tutus with swans jutting from their crotches dance, the one where Michael Landon David Hasselhoff (aren't they the same guy?) sings Hooked on a Feeling and the (American) one where a furry performs a strip-tease. Also the one where an overweight guy in red panties breathes fire. Turns out this America's Funniest Home Videos/Fear Factor stuff is way more interesting when presented in five-minute chunks in a language you don't speak.

I hope "the one where men in tutus with swans jutting from their crotches dance" didn't kill the thread....

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

24 last night was fantastic.

I'll be working tonight, so there's not a chance I'll be able to catch hours three and four. I'll see if I can record it, but we've been having VCR problems.

Unruly rider delays Red Line, cops say

An unruly passenger on a Chicago Transit Authority train scuffled with and injured three CTA employees and two Chicago police officers Sunday morning and briefly caused the shutdown of part of the Red Line, police said.

All of the injuries were minor.

Shortly before 9 a.m., Victor Thornton Jr., 18, of the 6600 block of North Ashland Avenue, was approached by three CTA security officers on a southbound Red Line train because he was causing a disturbance, a police spokeswoman said.

Thornton attacked them, leading someone to call police from the train, which was stopped near the 4600 block of North Broadway.

"Upon the officers arriving, the subject disrobed," the spokeswoman said. "He then punches out a train window. And at that point, an officer fires pepper spray that had no effect."

Thornton tried to kick a police sergeant, who then shot him with a stun gun, again to no effect, police said.

Thornton ran out of the back of the train, where he was caught by two police officers, who Thornton assaulted as they arrested him, police said.

Thornton has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery of a police officer, three counts of battery, one count of criminal damage to property and one count of resisting arrest, police said.

The Red Line resumed normal operation at 9:20 a.m., said a CTA spokeswoman.

That's my stop. And yesterday I walked past that station at around 10:00 a.m. - didn't notice anything weird going on....

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Uh-oh. Sounds like you've got a demon problem....
