It wasn't the pot that was the mistake, it was that he skipped his Brown interview. Which wasn't so much because he was high, more that he got high because he was freaking out about the interview.
(Also, the fact that he's buying his pot from his best friend's girlfriend's little sister, which is just not a good idea.)

Short version of the fire story:
When it took over the house, they all ran down the stairs. B's dad opened the front door, but the influx of oxygen made the entire first floor erupt. He (the dad) got out, but the rest of them had to run back upstairs. The second floor bathroom window had a little roof thing over it, so they ran up to the third floor window and jumped down. B jumped - he's not sure if his burns came from breaking out that window or from the first floor flare-up.) His mom and little brother climbed out on to the little roof bit - mom was in her nightgown, and took it off to use to lower little bro down to the ground. Then jumped down herself, naked, with a couple of broken bones but nothing worse.

In really-last-day-working news, it's a good thing I got there by 10, instead of the noon I was planning. I worked all day until 6, but finally got the damn thing done and copied and labelled and out the door.
