You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. Y'all went to bed early.

I didn't train again today. At least, that's what the instructor said--he never saw me, not at all. Best news? The other instructor said I looked good, that he'd pass me on what he saw me do. It's only maybe 1/4 to 1/5 of the syllabus, but that's a hugely good thing to know--I haven't trained on this stuff since the concussion three months ago. And January was always too soon for the test.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Wow. Y'all went to bed early.

Not me.

Yay on the good krav stuff.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Me neither, I'm working.

I have an 8am meeting with my boss tomorrow. I really need to no longer be awake. To that end, I bid thee farewell.

Oh, and stop working bon.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Yay for the positive not training.

I just finished watching Bones. I can't figure out if that was a gutsy topic or not (in the figurative sense). I was glad I taped though because I had to stop and laugh my ass off at Zach's attempt at peacemaking .

Our wings are not tired.

Spur of the moment weddings in Russia or China sound a bit stressful. Not quite like the weddings planned in exact detail a year or so in advance. Boggles really.

It appears things have become more complex.

The radical Islamic group Hamas claimed victory Thursday in voting for the first Palestinian parliament in a decade, saying it won a clear majority of seats and had the right to form the next government.

and YaY ita for the excellent invisible Krav!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is a pretty cool headline:

Monkey Police Provide Social Stability

Of the 21 species of macaque monkeys, pigtailed macaques live in societies that fall somewhere between the despotic and egalitarian extremes. A dominant male and female run the show but conflict among other monkeys is common, if rarely extreme. Most such conflicts end with a third party intervening, usually in favor of one or the other opponent. But sometimes the most powerful monkeys literally stand between the two combatants and, occasionally without even threatening them, impartially resolve the conflict. It is this occasional policing that allows pigtailed macaque society to be more diverse instead of breaking down into warring cliques, according to new research.

Oh, and go, ita!

I wonder if there are any Krav techniques that can be taught to monkeys

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The wedding was supposed to be last year, but last year was Year of the Widow, so they couldn't get married.

Bwah! We had a couple of near misses related to auspicious/inauspicious dates.

What is even happening?

In other news, my brother seems to think that people are still going to fly to China for his wedding even if he doesn't tell us when and where it is. I wonder what his fiancee thinks about him scheduling the entire thing about his family's presence instead of her convenience.

Oh my, Consuela. I remember when she was just a not-so-English-speaking houseguest with a sick-unto-dying stomach virus, foisted upon your sister, who spoke no Chinese, while your bother (oh, I'm keeping that typo) wasn't going to be around. They're getting married! Huh.

Your brother needs a boot in pants. Yes.
