Did you apply for it, Allyson? If not, get on it.
can I give out that url?
Absolutely.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, flaming otters, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Cass, what is this about the skunks? Do you have some living around your area? Under your porch?
Theodosia, San Diego (especially my area) is riddled with canyons. We have loads and loads of smaller wild animals around here. The skunks wander around, get frightened and spray. It actually happens a lot.
Last night the skunk must have been very close. And possibly was feeling threatened by a dog that kept sniffing around, given that the odor was around for hours.
I have the same problem with the Yankee Candle store.
My sister manages one and I can't figure out how she can handle it. Or any of the other more fragrant retail places she's worked. Though I love her discount at Yankee Candle, I only have two of the scents and only burn one at a time.
I need to be very careful of the scents I have in my home, in my bath and on my body.
Interesting article on breeding clouded leopards.
The San Diego zoo just put some clouded leopards on display. Now I am terribly curious as to whether they or the Wild Animal Park are having (or have had) luck breeding them.
I should also go to the zoo.
Instead I'm clicking Bat links.
That's gorgeous, Plei.
Hey, do you know anything about the MarQueen hotel? Is it close enough to you?
Mmm. Betsy, nice watch!
I know nothing about the MarQueen, except that the building is very pretty.
It's pretty central.
Allyson, you'd be great at PR. Apply.
Plei, I love that ring. Beautiful.
Also beautiful? Sleeping baby. Sleeping toddler girl also a treat. Last night when DH tucked her in, Franny climbed into the bed, did a somersault, and then curled up and fell asleep. It's like she's part cat.
Ugh. I now need to try to grade. Which of course means Franny will wake up from her nap in about 10 minutes.
Stephen Colbert interviewed by the Onion AV Club.
I had no idea he was an NU alum! What was the theatre department thinking, making us all aware of Charlton Heston and David Schwimmer when we had Colbert to boast about? Craxy!
[eta: And unless I'm mistaken about which acting teacher he's talking about, I'm 2 degrees from Colbert! He took acting from her, and I stage-managed the production of Hecuba she directed. Who wants to touch me?]

Cool. I can get a good deal there.
I have working heat again. Which, obviously, will mean that our series of very chilly nights is now over. But at least my failure to light the pilot light was less about my failure and more about a wonky electrical circuit. And there was a wee gas leak. So good on me for actually calling the gas co and then actually keeping the appointment five days later.
