YAY for an Allyson.

I check my email during class. But I also take notes on my computer which is probably distracting.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, flaming otters, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

One of my friends often does work for her job in class, among other things -- finally one of our professors asked if she was taking verbatim notes.
I'm watching Y Tu Mama Tambien, which made me realise that that YA novel I've been looking for all this time didn't feature a cardboard cutout of Che Guevara, but of Emiliano Zapata. So much easier to google now.
Hey, Kat--you ever taught any Frank Bonham?
I decided on these shoes in cherry: [link]
ita, I've had students read Durango Street, but I've not read it. My whole class novels are rare these days and tend to be plays more than novels.
Those shoes are cute, msbelle!
I know! and only $30!
Oh, pretty shoes. And cheap!
Good buy!
We rode our bikes around Santa Monica today and I stopped at Lucy. We bought 2 long sleeved shirts, 3 pairs of yoga pants, 1 pair of socks, a timbuk2 bag, 2 camisoles for less than $100. CRAXY.
I bought these this morning. Less cute.
I went searching for the availability of Frank Bonham books (Viva Chicano is the one that stuck most in my mind, obviously, but I do remember reading Durango Street and Hey Big Spender too) to see if they'd live up to my memories. They fascinated me. And it's not until now that I'm realising that Los Angeles is..you know...Los Angeles. Placing the mystery foreign city of those books in space if not in time with where I live now.
Must...resist...the...shoes.
