wants access to Google's huge database of search queries submitted by users to track how often pornography is returned in results. This information would be used for Bush's appeal of the 2004 COPA law, targeted to prevent access to pornography by children
I am going to go out on a limb and say that a HUge number( as in all but a one or two) of kids under 14 don't know how to use google. Further more , ignoreing the 20% of the people that have never used the internet before , but today are going to buy something on the internet, a good 30% of the adults don't know how to google or use any other search engine.
and sarmeg nails why I wasn't really watching much telvision before Buffy.
and why in the name of all that is holy would they put it up against Criminal Minds? They are going to have the same kinds of audiences!
Not anymore. Which is sad because I watch both. Watch
ed both.
I've already written an agenda, hosted a meeting, had a conference call, assigned work to a contract worker, and made a report to my boss. And none of that helped get anything off my plate.
Not anymore. Which is sad because I watch both. Watched both.
exactly. stupid people. they should have put it up against Dancing with the Stars or some stupid crap like that.
re: the monster fuckin' jellyfish
Much about the jellyfish, the largest variety found in the Sea of Japan, remains a mystery, according to Hitoshi Iizumi of the Seikai National Fisheries Research Institute in Niigata.
So, there are bigger ones elsewhere?
since there were no dogs in the office to play with I went to the local vintage clothing store where two dogs were available for pats. I feel better now. (I also bought a skirt and shirt so that helps to, until I freak about having spent money.)
I am not happy. Just in general.
Blargh.
Want change.
Got a long email back from my GP--my neuro suggested a sports medicine evaluation, and he doesn't see why. Pretty sure he'd recommend me right back to action, but that strikes me as dodgy cheating.
Listening to a podcast a couple weeks ago that explained why the web was where history should be recorded. It's not like before, they said, when writing a history was just for the privileged! Now it's easy! Anyone can publish their stories.
I know I'm listening to tech broadcasts, but crap like that makes me so angry. I found stats that say almost 70% of the US population are "internet users." I bet considerably fewer than 70% are actually internet-savvy, or likely to do any publishing. The internet can only be a great equaliser if you have access to it, and even then, that's no guarantee of shit.
I was going somewhere with that. Forget where.
That is sad and also a little lovely.
Winters' daughter Vittoria Gassman publicly opposed the marriage. Gassman, who took charge of her mother's estate while she battled drug problems, refused to give up her right to the actress' fortune and Winters eventually decided to give up on her wedding dreams.
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me in multiple ways. It really sounds like a smear job-- why would you *publicly* oppose a marriage because it hurts your inheritance? If you publicly opposed it for those reasons how could that convince someone not to marry until their dying day? It doesn't make sense from what I know of trusts & estates, either.
