Goodbye and Good Riddance 2005: the Year of the Penguin

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2005? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Erika, that's an awesome gift! Thanks.

Usually I try to find the good in each year rather than concentrate on the bad.

This year.

Not so much.

May 2006 remind me that there are good things in the world and a couple of them can happen to me.

What. MG. Said.

Always Anti-fascist!

You're welcome, everyone.Gus, bunk, I didn't know you'd joined the brotherhood and stuff. It's better for our profile than for you, I'm sure.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

There have been some grand things that happened this year.

But other things...

Damn you, 2005. Damn you straight to hell.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

On December 26th Natural Disaster Year From HELL will end.

I think I'll gather with the loved ones, toast all those poor souls, and pray we never see 365 days like that again.

Our wings are not tired.

Whee! I just finished sealing the box to mail off my package to my secret giftee! Of course the recipient will be annoyed with the excess use of tape, but I wanted the unwrapping to take as long as possible. Gonna get this to the reindeer right now.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Don't forget to toast MY BIRTHDAY on the 26th, as long as you're in a toasty mood....

I'm getting the pig!

I mailed off my package to my secret giftee today too!! Yay! I hope they like it. (eep!)

Beware, gifters! The very snooty lady at the post office was oh so kind to point out to me that they *prefer* holiday packages to be mailed by the 14th.

"Uh-huh. I'd *prefer* to be less hungry and independently wealthy. How 'bout you just tell me how much I owe you, m'kay pumpkin?"

Yeesh. ONE DAY after the cut off date. Thank goodness my box was up to code. The poor dude in front of me wasn't as lucky.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yikes - I am behind. I checked my stash of stuff and I feel like I'm missing a key something, but that something is being DARNED elusive.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

My package was sent out on Tuesday, I think.
