I showed my gifty off to a coworker, explaining about the community of invisible friends I've belonged to for two years and yes, many of us have met, but a lot haven't and we are initially organized around interest in a tv show but a lot else goes on and we talk about our lives and the world...and...and...and...she was just boggled.
I love that.
And I'm grateful for this place and the things I see happen here. People supporting each other in ways corporeal friends don't always...learning...being hipped to things one might never find otherwise...laughing...fuming...wondering.
It's a beautiful thing...this Buffistaland.
eta. Sue! I really did. You obviously put a lot into it. And Coffee Crisp? Is the stuff. Mmmm.

Wrod. People will say, "Where did you get X?" and I'll say, "One of the Buffistas gave it to me." "Wait--aren't those the people you've never met?" "Strictly speaking, no, I've never met them." "Wow."

Oh, yeah! It is, it is.
Signed, has been known to drive to Canada just to buy it. (Though, thank goodness, can actually find it in a few stores here now.)
I may need to organize a cross-border drugcandy exchange. Seriously.
The problem being that we'd have to give them something other than candy.
Anne, I'm glad you like your gift! I knew as soon as I got your name that I wanted to give you a mix of Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer songs. They've really meant a lot to me, and I think you'll appreciate them.

And what do you give a country that has everything? Including awesome Buffistas.
You could give them me! Then I'd be Canadian, and you'd have delicious Chocolate!

Possibly Canada might not feel that this was a good deal. But
I'd
be happy. And Canadian, eh?
Hmm... as Ouise's sister, didn't you have a hand in a Very Special Secret Santa gift a few years back involving Sports Night MPreg and Big Turks?
As Megan said: sadly no, I am Ouise's other sister. The fabulous Sports Night MPreg was the work of RahRah (sp?)
My year was mostly spent recovering (in various ways) from a disasterous early spring and has, kinda averaged out to a normal level of good and bad (though both were a bit more extreme than usual).
I'm fairly sure that this is the appropriate time and place to post my manymany heartfelt thanks to all Buffistas who were supportive to my sister when I was being all stupid and needy last spring. I doubt I'll ever be able to express how glad I am that this board exists. It is such a wonderful place and you are all wonderful people.
[sorry for the sappy but I can't seem to express this without it]

As a Canadian, I disagree, we would be glad to buy you with chocolate just so long as we get to keep
some
of it.
Huh. I don't think the chocolate is worth a Fay. That would require an awful lot of chocolate, anyway.
