Goodbye and Good Riddance 2005: the Year of the Penguin

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2005? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

I'm so glad you liked the goodies Maria. You made me go all squeeeee this morning.

I had written a special card for on top of everything and then missed putting it in. I had initially forgotten about the other note that was with the cards, but then I hoped that was enough.

If I mailed out my present on Monday, December 19, and have yet to hear anything from my Santee, when should I start to get worried?

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I'd be worried now, Tom, unless they've been out of town. I mailed several packages on Monday and most of them arrived on the following Wednesday and Thursday.

Like mine, which I adore, but didn't get until I got home. Thank you Deena!

I think it would depend on where it was going...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I think if it was my present you should worry. Otherwise, eh.

True, though I sent mine from Cleveland and the ones going to the east and west coasts got there on Wednesday and the ones going to the middle of the country got there on Thursday. They were all sent priority or first class. That could make a difference.

I'm so glad you got it and like it Perkins! yay!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Okay, I finally mailed out my sekret santy gift. I sent it priority so my giftee should hopefully get it by Saturday.

If it's still Hannukah then my gift ain't late.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hell, Eid's just around the corner - stretch a point a little, and you're good till half way through January.

Smart people can be stupid too

Santa (disguised as a postal delivery guy) visited my house this morning with a box of goodies!

There were some lovely Lush bubble baths and delicious flavour syrups (which I tried in a steamer this afternoon),tea (chamomile, my favourite), and hot chocolate (which I can't wait to sample). [ETA As if that weren't enough, all of this was wrapped up in a fantasic sparkly (and furry) giftbag with incredible striped and checked tissue paper which i *must* find and... wait for it... pink bubble wrap!]

It was a wonderful surprising "second Christmas" and I'm looking foreward to having a really cozy evening in someday soon. THANKS SANTA!!
