Buffy: How bored were you last year? Giles: I watched 'Passions' with Spike. Let us never speak of it.

'Beneath You'

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2005: the Year of the Penguin

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2005? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I think it would depend on where it was going..

True, though I sent mine from Cleveland and the ones going to the east and west coasts got there on Wednesday and the ones going to the middle of the country got there on Thursday. They were all sent priority or first class. That could make a difference.

I'm so glad you got it and like it Perkins! yay!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Okay, I finally mailed out my sekret santy gift. I sent it priority so my giftee should hopefully get it by Saturday.

If it's still Hannukah then my gift ain't late.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hell, Eid's just around the corner - stretch a point a little, and you're good till half way through January.

Smart people can be stupid too

Santa (disguised as a postal delivery guy) visited my house this morning with a box of goodies!

There were some lovely Lush bubble baths and delicious flavour syrups (which I tried in a steamer this afternoon),tea (chamomile, my favourite), and hot chocolate (which I can't wait to sample). [ETA As if that weren't enough, all of this was wrapped up in a fantasic sparkly (and furry) giftbag with incredible striped and checked tissue paper which i *must* find and... wait for it... pink bubble wrap!]

It was a wonderful surprising "second Christmas" and I'm looking foreward to having a really cozy evening in someday soon. THANKS SANTA!!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

You know what? 2005 needs to not exist. Ever.

Just got a call from Mayflower. The tractor-trailer carrying my crap got hit by another truck. Two of my totes got broken. My computer is probably frelled (I assume this, because it's a computer that went through an accident). I waived the full insurance, going for the cheaper $0.60 per pound option (we really didn't have the money).

The driver is fine. He's currently sitting somewhere around the Colorado/Utah border, waiting to be OK'd to continue.

The odds of my crap beating me to SF have been significantly shortened.

The superstitious part of me is trying very hard not to scream.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Man, I keep reading about the stuff people get and feeling like I felll down on the job.

I do this every year too.

Me three. Fortunately, my giftees seem to be fooled happy, so I guess I shouldn't worry so much. I think that buffistas are by definition tremendously creative and generous. But many of us are also humble or have low self esteem, so we seem to think that the previous statement applies to every other buffista.

ION, I go on vacation in 6.5 hours! That probably should be in Natter or Bitches, but lately, this is the only thread I can keep up with.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Oh shit, j. I don't know what to say.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, juliana. I have no words.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Me either, hon. That's the very last thing you needed today, but it is absolutely not an omen.

Whatever the situation is with your computer and other stuff, we can work it out.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Oh hell, juliana. 2005 is just not wanting to go out with a whimper.

Even without insurance, this is something you might be able to persue legally against the truck who hit Mayflower.
