I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG so tired. How do people do this every day, again? Tonight I go to bed at 10 for reals. On the plus side, I'm learning just how fast I can get up and get ready, after sleeping through my alarm for various lengths of time.....

Hey, was yesterday Emily's birthday, too?

I'm just later and later for work.

I think that's how I did it when I had a real job. As a temp, more or less, I feel some compulsion to be on-time-ish. Not that I wasn't 15 minutes late yesterday.

That's a thing that's annoying: On Tuesday, I left at 8:10, got here at 8:55. Had to wait for someone to unlock the door. Yesterday, I left at 8:20, got here at 9:15. Bah! Today, I got it right -- left at 8:15, got here 9:00, thanks to good connections on the train.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Glargh. That's all I have to say about the morning.

Man, I'll be glad when I stop waking up with headaches. I used to be able to pass for a morning person.

I have to say, I've kind of had it with my friends having extended health issues. I can only imagine how much it sucks to actually HAVE the issues.

I'm toying with a sick day. I know I'll feel better in a few hours...but what's wrong with my head that I can't take a sick day?

Ah, fuck it. I'm not taking one. I'll e-mail in "unable to navigate" (the headache really should have worn off by now--usually I don't have to medicate the morning pain) and check back in after meds and a little sleeping. Also, when I sit back and pay attention, the room is spinning. A little.

Can you take half a sick day, or does that not work with the way your benefits are structured?

sarameg - Dec 29, 2005 5:02:53 am PST #5774 of 10002

Um. That's sick day worthy. Rooms should not spin unless you are.

ION, the other temp writer here hasn't showed up and no one knows why. The person she's likely to have called had a plumbing problem at home, so isn't here, either. I really hope she didn't just bail, because I have no interest in taking on her stuff, too!! At any rate, she was from an agency, so they could have a new person here tomorrow. Or Tuesday, I guess, since I think tomorrow's only a half-day....

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

This is a world where cheese is sprayed out of a can.

Your world is not my world.

Jamie Bamber in Hornblower is unspeakably adorable. And British. And then in BSG he's all OMG!Arms! and American. I have a mighty love-on for both incarnations.
