Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have to say, I've kind of had it with my friends having extended health issues. I can only imagine how much it sucks to actually HAVE the issues.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm toying with a sick day. I know I'll feel better in a few hours...but what's wrong with my head that I can't take a sick day?

Ah, fuck it. I'm not taking one. I'll e-mail in "unable to navigate" (the headache really should have worn off by now--usually I don't have to medicate the morning pain) and check back in after meds and a little sleeping. Also, when I sit back and pay attention, the room is spinning. A little.

Can you take half a sick day, or does that not work with the way your benefits are structured?

sarameg - Dec 29, 2005 5:02:53 am PST #5774 of 10002

Um. That's sick day worthy. Rooms should not spin unless you are.

ION, the other temp writer here hasn't showed up and no one knows why. The person she's likely to have called had a plumbing problem at home, so isn't here, either. I really hope she didn't just bail, because I have no interest in taking on her stuff, too!! At any rate, she was from an agency, so they could have a new person here tomorrow. Or Tuesday, I guess, since I think tomorrow's only a half-day....

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

This is a world where cheese is sprayed out of a can.

gapes

Your world is not my world.

Jamie Bamber in Hornblower is unspeakably adorable. And British. And then in BSG he's all OMG!Arms! and American. I have a mighty love-on for both incarnations.

If I work half a day, it'll count as a full day, so I can leave my sick days alone.

Sent the email to my manager, another to a co-worker, so hopefully I'll have fresh meat to work on when I resurface for air.

Back to lie down!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I awoke to the sad news that an LJ friend of mine (raveninthewind) posted -- her 18yo son committed suicide. I can't imagine what she must be feeling.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

If the room is spinning, you don't have to go in. Thus sayeth I.

Theo, I'm so sorry -- what horrible news.

Damn, Theo. That's so sad. God.

If I work half a day, it'll count as a full day, so I can leave my sick days alone.

It does occur to me that it might be nice for you not to always be pushing yourself right up to the very limits, even for one afternoon, but then, I'm way lazier than you.
