I really hope she didn't just bail, because I have no interest in taking on her stuff, too!! At any rate, she was from an agency, so they could have a new person here tomorrow. The annual "Shopping in America Holiday 2005" survey found that 75 percent of Americans plan to celebrate on New Year's Eve and each will spend an average of $172 on festivities.
But a regional breakdown of that spending pattern reveals that folks in the Northeast shell out the most — an average of $255.53 — on the big night, followed by Westerners with $169.32 and Southerners with $158.82.
Those in the Midwest spend the least, an average of just $119.45.
I wonder how much that's adjusted for cost-of-living differences, though.
