Do we know about Shopgirl ? (warning: that page has sound) Steve Martin, Claire Danes and Jason Schwartzman.

Based on Steve Martin's bestselling novella, "Shopgirl" is a funny and poignant story of love in the modern age. The film catches a glimpse inside the lives of three very different people on diverse paths, but all in search of the same thing.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

A bit of Friday afternoon mindlessness

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bottom Only Naked seems way more undignified to me than Fully Nude

Ja, me too.

What is even happening?

It doesn't hurt. There are, I'm sure, no bigger cold wimps than me on the board. I don't know if I've ever voluntarily taken a not-hot shower. I certainly haven't taken a cold shower since the concussion in Marrakech in 1990.

My feet pain me when I put them in the ocean water in Southern Maine (if it is cold enough). I am not a wimp about cold (or cool) weather, but wet coldness is a whole different ballgame.

Not so much numb as eerily hot.

That's because your blood, which had gone to hide out at your core, comes rushing back. Sounds good, anyhow.

So far, my feet pain me if I put them in ocean water that isn't Caribbean or the Indian Ocean off of Kenya. So far, all of the US is a wash. More updates as they come in.

We need a nice El Nino to warm up the water around here. And you need to visit Hawaii, also.

I'm getting the pig!

ChiKat - that link is fabulous!! The best part (for me) is when you hold down the mouse and shake him from side to side and then toss him back into the game.

Wheeee!

I like pulling him around by his little neck.

How warm does El Nino get the ocean?

[link] This says the warm water mass was 70-85F, but I don't know if that's actually measured. It was plenty warm enough to go swimming around at Pt Dume completely comfortably.
