They used relievers differently back then.
The concept of middle relief was still emerging. Back then a starter will throw 7 or 8 innings and a closer would throw 1 or 2. You were just starting to see the LHP brought out to face LH hitters in close-late situations.
OMG. Clemens is swinging for the fences. He wants to go home.
Home run!!!!!!!!!!!!
(But not Clemens. Chris Burke.)
Ballgame. Just short of six hours.
The Braves had 18 LOB. That's not good.
Damn, Clemens just picked up Burke like he was a rag doll or something.
Roger Clemens is hitting? That's not right.
I mean, right?
He hit twice. Also, he hit all season. It's the National League. They still remember that the pitcher is supposed to bat.
Crazy National League with the hitting pitchers. Who came up with that kind of crazy talk?
I googled "fluffer" to see if the web cared about any non-porn interpretations, and NSM. But I did find this store which sells a cool-assed pendant that I'm coveting the hell out of.
