Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Roger Clemens is hitting? That's not right.

I mean, right?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

He hit twice. Also, he hit all season. It's the National League. They still remember that the pitcher is supposed to bat.

Crazy National League with the hitting pitchers. Who came up with that kind of crazy talk?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I googled "fluffer" to see if the web cared about any non-porn interpretations, and NSM. But I did find this store which sells a cool-assed pendant that I'm coveting the hell out of.

Silence means security silence means approval

Pitchers not hitting is an American League thing. They've been hitting in the NL since 1876.

I'd love to see what the TSA would do with that.

What is even happening?

I take it they prepare male actors for certain sorts of scenes?

I loved that Clemens tried to end it with one swing. He really had nothing to lose by swinging as hard as he could. If he had singled, they couldn't pinch run for him, so Burke would've had to homer anyway just to get him around from first.

See? Now you're all up to date.

Shall we discuss the dirty sanchez? Rusty trombone?

Well, he could have thrown his back out, which would have meant an instant forfeit unless Pettitte was available to play the field.
