I'm 17. Looking at linoleum makes me want to have sex.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Until Murakami translates my book, I'll have to settle for one of my other dreams coming true. A band naming themselves after The Daisy Bang.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

By capturing the history of an obscure pop band that personified everything good about that genre of rock is Smay’s tribute to a sound and history that he loved. That is the same reason Murn, Kayne, Joyce and Hansen have chosen to adopt the name Daisy Bangs, to pay tribute to the music that has made them who they are.

Awesome!

I should go see them sometime. Maybe I'll tell them, "I know David Smay! Do you want to touch me?"

I hear that's an excellent pickup line.

GF and I are going to see Tegan and Sara tonight and Quasi tomorrow night! It's crazy how there are months of no bands (that you want to see) and then they all play at the same time. We saw PJ Harvey last week (or was it the week before?) and New Pornographers not long before that. Anyway, it's an odd phenomenon.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Jesus, David, that's so fucking cool about the Daisy Bang. Also, if it helps, I'll vote for Murakami to translate your book when they ask me.

GC, color me jealous. I caught on to So Jealous maybe a month before The Con came out and was very happy with both. Let me know how the show goes.

Democracy in action, baby. Vote yes on famous translators. You know where Tom is huge? Germany, Scandinavia - anywhere they sell wurst. I would not be surprised if it eventually got translated over there.

This was about my 5th T&S show. It was at a fairly big venue (Orpheum Theater in downtown LA) and it sold out. Good for them! They are always fun live - cute banter between songs, sound great. I noticed lots of pre-teen girls there with mothers, which I've not noticed before. It's always a young crowd, but not that young! GF and I were like grandmas! Anyway, it was a fun show and we were 4th row center. Woot!
