It's so cool that those exist.

FAQWife pointed out that the fancy bottle of scotch in the Dean's office would likely be a plot point. Maybe it'll be empty indicating suicide? Maybe it'll be missing? Not sure.
It may have just been there for ironic foreshadowing. Although I didn't think of its being empty. I sincerely doubt it will turn out to be suicide, but an empty bottle could have that effect: that also narrows down the list of suspects to people who know his history with that bottle, however.
Maybe Rob wrote it into the script so they would actually have to go out a buy a bottle of 40yo scotch as a prop.
Ha ha ha.

I'm going to have to write a tv show. Every ep will feature expensive scotch as a plot point. Hell, every other line will feature expensive scotch. I will call it Scotchy McScotcherson: The Scotch Drinking Scotch Lover.
Maybe it'll be empty indicating suicide?
I think Lamb will jump to that conclusion even without the scotch.
do you think the scotch could have been drugged?
do you think the scotch could have been drugged?
That wouldn't make much sense to me, because he specifically wasn't drinking that scotch that night. Unless he knew it was drugged, and he was planning on using it on someone else.
You know, the fact that the dean was actually nice to Veronica at the beginning of the episode should have tipped me off that he wasn't long for this world.
I mostly finished the episode going "Huh." I liked a lot of individual moments (and didn't care for others. I found Piz's goon dance and Veronica's weird slow-mo run to techno music really annoying. The latter took me out of what should have been an intense scene.)
Loved Mac. Wished we had seen more of her (especially after the long absence) but her scene at the party was absolutely perfect, between the t-shirt and her getting whiskey!boy to spike her drink, testing it and then tossing it out.
Definitely think TA Tim is the prime suspect for the dean's murder. As others have said, the emphasis on the perfect murder papers and him making a big scene at the party just seem too convient.
