"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

do you think the scotch could have been drugged?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

do you think the scotch could have been drugged?

That wouldn't make much sense to me, because he specifically wasn't drinking that scotch that night. Unless he knew it was drugged, and he was planning on using it on someone else.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

You know, the fact that the dean was actually nice to Veronica at the beginning of the episode should have tipped me off that he wasn't long for this world.

I mostly finished the episode going "Huh." I liked a lot of individual moments (and didn't care for others. I found Piz's goon dance and Veronica's weird slow-mo run to techno music really annoying. The latter took me out of what should have been an intense scene.)

Loved Mac. Wished we had seen more of her (especially after the long absence) but her scene at the party was absolutely perfect, between the t-shirt and her getting whiskey!boy to spike her drink, testing it and then tossing it out.

Definitely think TA Tim is the prime suspect for the dean's murder. As others have said, the emphasis on the perfect murder papers and him making a big scene at the party just seem too convient.

Veronica AND Weevil. How doomed could one man be?

Veronica's weird slow-mo run to techno music really annoying.

See, I loved that, but I love that Fatboy Slim number so that's probably part of it.

What is even happening?

I liked it fine, and the song as well. In the aftermath though, the Fatboy Slim song has proven to be an extra nasty earworm, and to add insult to injury, it quickly devolves in the Jesus Jones' song, "Right Here, Right Now."

I'm pretty sure Rob Thomas is a demon.

Aw, I like the earworm it gives me (hell, I'm earworming right now, AIFG!), but it doesn't go into J.J. so that may be why.

I think I read a theory that sometimes, earworms are the brain's attempt to resolve the lyrics. You remember a snippet, but not the whole song, and your brain is working on it, trying to pull it all up. I know, from personal experience with the old Yoplait Yogurt jingle, this isn't always the case, as I *still* know the melody and all the words. I've been infected with that earworm off and on for something like 25-30 years.

The only part of the Fatboy Slim song I can ever even remember hearing is the part in VM. I mean, I think VM was my introduction to the song. So I suspect that's why it devolves in the JJ song. I Googled the JJ song lyrics yesterday, in an attempt to put the sucker to rest, but I can only hear the music to the chorus in my head, and can't remember what the rest of the song sounded like, so it's making it worse.

Even It's a Small World isn't helping (of course I know all the words to that, too).

Hmmm. What does it mean if you're earwormed with an instrumental? Because apart from the "Right here, right now"s, the Fatboy song IS an instrumental (and I don't really count sampled vocals as lyrics). I know the whole song, and it's only bits of it that are going through my head (and it's not so much the vocal part).

eta Maybe you just have unresolved Jesus Jones issues? :)

I know all the words to the Polaroid Swinger ad from the '60s, and yet it still takes over my brain for days at a time.

Maybe, except I couldn't even remember it was his song, until I Googled it, yesterday.

Is it a jingle, or spoken-word?
