You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Logan was an obnoxious jerk before he fell in love with Veronica, and now he's turned into a controlling jerk.

i'll give you obnoxious jerk before, but how exactly has he been controlling? wanting Veronica to be safe isn't a selfish act. i sincerely doubt he had any intentions of her ever finding out that he'd hired someone to protect her. it just happened that the bodyguard felt she was in danger at that moment and that was more important than blowing his cover.

Because books.

Yeah, I don't get how he's controlling, either. Controlling, to me, is someone who tells his girlfriend what she can and can't do, who monitors her phone calls and her friends and all kinds of creepy things. Logan's not doing that -- he knew she wouldn't back off the case, but he wanted to make sure she didn't get hurt.

Edited to add: Logan calling her cell while watching to see if she would pick up isn't controlling, either. It's self-defense. He feels her slipping away, he wants to find out if he's right -- and protect himself from heartbreak. He's not monitoring who else she's talking to.

If anything, Veronica's the one who's been doing those things -- not to control Logan, but because she doesn't trust him not to disappoint her.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

i sincerely doubt he had any intentions of her ever finding out that he'd hired someone to protect her.

That makes it so much better. He hired someone to stalk her, and since she has every right to fear being stalked, he wound up terrorizing the woman he claims to love. That's just unacceptable behavior. And it is controlling when the bodyguard pulls her out of a situation against her will.

Veronica should be afraid. she's not at all as badass as she'd like to believe and the fact that someone drugged and assaulted her proves that. she needs to learn when to ask for help and really, how hard would it be for her to ask Logan to keep her company on these late night treks across campus for random jobs. it's obvious he wouldn't mind and she was the one who was demanding just a few episodes ago that he wasn't spending enough time with her.

he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't and i personally hope he's the one to drop her if it comes down to that.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm getting a little bit of a BtVS S6 vibe this season -- Veronica Learns the Hard Way That Life Is Not Simple! Or Easy! Or Black and White!

And I'm getting a serious BtVS S6 vibe off the reaction a lot of folks are having - poor-abused-woobie-Logan-why-is-Veronica-such-a-bitca-to-him vs. poor-bad-boy-chasing-Veronica-needs-to-get-a-clue-and-wash- that-man-right-out-of-her-life. Yikes.

for the record, the way Veronica's been treating Logan isn't the only problem i have with her. she's been an equal opportunity bitch all season.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Man, I loved the Big Lebowski shout-out and the Patty Hearst casting, even if her acting left a lot to be desired. But yeah, I hated the "feminists are behind the rapes" thing and Veronica's freakin' self-righteous attitude.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm not EVEN going to start in on how angry I am that RT went that route. That's almost enough to get me to stop watching the show. That's some seriously weak-ass shit.

I...but he didn't go that route. Veronica is taking a guess, yes, and she is also explicitly saying how very counterproductive is, just like everyone has been saying all season. I don't understand why it's bad for fictional characters to do something especially when it's clear the show doesn't condone it in the least.

she's been an equal opportunity bitch all season.

Someone on my flist linked this analysis, which I like.

Patty Hearst casting, even if her acting left a lot to be desired.

That's putting it lightly.
