Yay! That's great news! Any word on how they'll be scheduling it?
Wheeeeee! Big sigh of relief. I'll take as many eps as I can get. Thanks, P-C!

Everything since the CW was formed is pointing to Tuesdays at 9 following Gilmore Girls, but we'll find out for sure on Thursday.
Righty-o. Thanks, P-C!
Great news!

Bite your tongue!
Do you guys realize how much more bitter I can get if I fall in love with a show that gets cancelled? I'd forsake television forever.
OK, maybe not forever.

Here's the thing. I love VM to death, and am over the moon at the renewal, but I would have understood (in a totally devastated way) if it had been canceled. The ratings hoovered, particularly in the second half of this season.
Now, I was angry when they took it off unexpectedly, because they were afraid the Olympics would crush it, because the ratings (for new eps) had been decent to that point. I was angry though, because usually, that's step one in killing a show, only the networks call it "saving" a show.
Then it moved to Tuesdays, but I think they did that to save it, because so many VM fans are Lost fans, too. So I couldn't be too angry about that, and personally, it works better for me on Tuesdays.
As I understand it, much of the reason the ratings sucked over the last batch of episodes is that the show was pre-empted in major markets like L.A. and NY. But if the show makes a fair go of it, with good promotion and treatment at the start of season three on the new CW, and the ratings still suck...well, I'm trying to prepare myself not to be too bitter. I mean, I think the overnights for the last couple of episodes were just around 1-1.5 million viewers. Them's cancelation numbers, whether there have been pre-emptions and schedule changes, or not. They're AWFULLY lucky with this renewal. They deserve it. It's a great show, but since when has that mattered?
personally, i'm confident that the numbers will improve. do you know how many markets don't even have UPN affiliates? with this merger the show is going to reach more people. i'm ecstatic beyond belief and trying to figure out how i can rework my pimping to finally suck in those people that have been resisting.
