Heh. I just walked out to the kitchen to get more coffee. Scott left the radio on. The Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody began as I entered the room, and suddenly I wanted more L/V vids to that.
It's a sickness, Buffy.

Veronica's cell phone's being out of range doesn't explain anything. Airlines will page people for you, and Veronica could have used a public phone when Keith didn't show up. I can't believe Keith would have just left a message on her cell phone without actually talking to her. People sometimes seem to forget that we used to communicate without cellphones.
They could just as easily have shown her on a pay phone saying, "Dad, my cell phone isn't working. Where are you? What's going on?" or her reacting to "Paging Veronica Mars. Miss Veronica Mars," but they didn't; they showed a cell phone that said no signal. Maybe she called him. Maybe he paged her. But if the choice is leaving a voice mail or completely blowing her off I prefer to think that good dad and general mensch KM left a voice mail. Of course, I'm often wrong.
Maybe it's got something to do with the breaking and entering that Keith did to Kendall's house? Something to do with her and the Fitzpatricks and the hard drive he stole? Possibly Veronica's safety in Neptune?
Hadn't really thought of this until you mentioned the break in, but wouldn't he (or at least "shouldn't he") be leery of going somewhere with a woman whose companion recently tried to kill him? By nature or nurture (ex-sheriff/PI) wouldn't he be unlikely to follow her into a possible trap? Only four months or so until we find out.
Did anyone (particularly thinking of Plei, here, but anyone) wonder for a second during the finale, if CC was pregnant again? There was something about her face.

I agree that's why it's gotta be Veronica's safety or a direct implication of Keith going to jail that would compell him to take immediate action with Kendall. AND it's gotta be something that obviously implicates Kendall too, to make Keith trust her.
Mars Investigations was a big resource for this entry, as were the fabulous transcripts of . I was originally going to whittle stuff down, but hey...in episode 2:02, who'da thunk Cassidy blew up the bus? Without further ado...
The Compleat Kendall...
Kendall appears in the following episodes: 2:01; 2:02; 2:03; 2:07; 2:09; 2:11; 2:15; 2:19; 2:20; 2:22

Keith is not at airport when Veronica is waiting for him.

A careless adulteress; leaves condom wrapper under couch
Also a careful adulteress who breaks out the nail polish to cover up the scent of sex.

It's up at the lj: [link]
There are no casting spoilers, but there is (inconclusive) discussion about whether or not CC will return. I know nothing that guarantees she either will or not.
De-lurking to say that I think whatever is in that case definitely has something to do with the Echolls' (if it is Cliff's briefcase). In Look Who's Stalking, Keith gave Veronica those fliers of the man who hired the woman who stole Cliff's briefcase. (whew.) And later Logan mentioned to Veronica that that same guy was his dad's cell mate. Also, in LWS, Keith enters the office, sees the fliers on his desk, and then sees Kendall, who had been in the office all by herself for god knows how long - she had plenty of time to take a peak at them.
But what about the Echolls' family would cause Keith to abandon Veronica?
I finally got to watch the last three episodes and caught up on 1000 posts. Funny skimming all the speculation. Vonnie, either you are spoiled or you are REALLY good at this. You're like my TV spec opposite.
Anyway, re: the briefcase-- my thoughts have revolved around things (fitting in a briefcase) that upon the *sight* of which Keith would act, not so much which plot it fits into.
It wouldn't be a videotape, audiotape, records or documents. But I"m not coming up with anything else visually arresting.
