GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The explosion in the sky seemed kind of cheesy, but in retrospect it was kind of necessary for the scene. Veronica needed to believe her dad was dead, and Beaver just pushing a button wouldn't be enough.

Especially since, up until the explosion, I had assumed since Veronica was unable to reach Keith on his cellphone, the cell reciever hooked up to the bomb wouldn't work either.

What is even happening?

I had a "yeah, right, what a coincidence," reaction, at the moment of explosion, but both Kristen and Kyle then earned the entire scene, three times over, and now I'm feeling all protective of it.

If I only had a brain...

she pieta-ed the night away in Logan's arms

The evil is this way?

Quick question: Does anyone know the date of the Neptune High Graduation? I remember the Alterna-Prom invites were dated something round abouts May 13th.

I thought the text messaging said it was June 2 or 3, 2006, but I'm not sure.

I thought it was too much the first time I watched it, but I think I'm coming around to the idea that it needed to be witnessed for Veronica to believe that her dad was really dead. But he wasn't. It was a Big Old Plot Twist. I felt too manipulated. If Keith really was dead or if VM had shot Cassidy, then the scene would have more lasting -- and legitimate -- impact. I dunno. Maybe it was necessary for the audience to see how far Cassidy had gone. Maybe he needed to see this about himself. I dunno.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Am I the only person who was certain, beyond any doubt, that Keith was alive?... If Keith were going to die, they wouldn't have shown it from miles away; he'd have gotten a proper send off.

I agree with Jon. Beyond the perhaps necessary but still hard to believe coincidence that the plane would be right there in view when it blew up, beyond respect for the character and actor, Keith's death carries too much dramatic impact to take place like that. Had he actually been killed on the plane I think we would have had a shot of him on the plane, in the air - something that left no doubt, a Jenny Calendar-holy-shit-they-really-did-it-and-there's-no-going-back moment.

Thanks, Narrator. I just checked the TiVo. I know the date on Veronica's Blackberry (or whatever) when she's waiting in the airport said June 6, so that sounds right.

there is something to be said for the lyric and imperial attitude / believe that everything is for you until you discover that you are for it

Yeah, I don't get that. They just *really* cared about Lucky? C'mon...

Their interest in Lucky has always seemed strange to me. (They brought him into their home, talked him up to their daughter, bailed him out of jail, etc.) I assumed there was something behind it we’d find out about, although now I’m afraid this will be another Crypto-message Pen unresolved clue. Or it will be explained in the Season Finale of Season 5.

wouldn't have believed Cassidy otherwise (I mean, he didn't really kill Mac, did he?)

Didn’t he say something like “She’s in a better place.”? To which my reaction is always “Schenectady!” (from Daily Miller: "My father ain't in Europe--he's in a better place than Europe." Winterbourne for a moment supposed this the manner in which the child had been taught to intimate that Mr. Miller had been removed to the sphere of celestial rewards. But Randolph immediately added: "My father's in Schenectady.)

I totally thought that Keith was dead. What really sold me was Veronica waking up the next morning and having that second where it’s just morning and then remembering what happened actually happened and knowing that nothing will ever be fine again, that this will be the thing you wake up knowing for the for the rest of your life. The fact that he didn’t come in and wake her up really bothered me, but that was way after the fact, since I’m a big ol suspension-of-disbelief slut.

The pieta scene bothered me, as did the Season 1 one. Veronica and Logan don’t work for me perpendicularly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Crypto-message Pen unresolved clue.

The shorthand is "spy pen."

This year's spy pen is Sally.

It was kind of funny. It was funny to me, because I thought Logan was positioned really uncomfortably on Veronica, in the season 1 finale. I attributed that at the time to his injuries, and the fact that JD is so much bigger than KB. This time? Veronica was positioned just an uncomfortably, which I dug for both the symmetry, and the stupidity, all rolled up into one.
