Wesley: I stabbed you. I should apologize for that. But I'm honestly not sure how. I think it'll just be awkward. Gunn: Good call. Wesley: Okay.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Artificial Intelligence?

Heh. I assume American Idol. Oh! I remember hearing Shatner was gonna sing, too. Maybe it'd be worthwhile tuning in, if it means we're going to have something similar to his classic performance of "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds".

Tom, I watched Spartan a couple of months ago and thought it very odd (even for a Mamet film) but interesting. It was twisty plot-wise in the way I liked, but also utterly flat in its emotional affect. I thought KB was very good in a small role.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

but also utterly flat in its emotional affect.

So... typical Mamet then?

It's Mamet, only more so.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Yeah. It was well past "flat" into "frigid" territory.

The last two Mamet films I watched before this one had some shards of warmth in them (that would be "The Winslow Boy" and "State and Main", although I guess you can't really count the former as a true Mamet), but I wasn't surprised that he was true to form in this flick.

Because books.

that would be "The Winslow Boy" and "State and Main"

State and Main was eh. The funniest line, I thought was after the car accident, when Alec Baldwin's character said, "Well. That happened."

I'm whitefonting this because it's technically a casting spoiler, but I'm sure it will be everywhere soon enough.

Joss is going to guest star on VM: [link]

What is even happening?

Oh, I think people who don't watch VM will want to know that. What to do, what to do?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

You all will be glad to know that, although the CC on the first half hour of east-coast VM was 100% wonkeriffic, it returned to normal before the end of the hour.

But it was pretty funny, learning about refugee dolphins while Veronica was being menaced and shit.
