Weevil reminds me of Faith. The actor, I mean - give Francis Capra a wig and some breasts and he's ED in Faith mode.
Veronica Mars: Annoy, Tiny Blonde One. Annoy Like the Wind.

I meant to say, I wonder if we weren't a little hard on Keyser Soze.
I thought...she?...was happily anticipating some good meaty discussion here, as opposed to the craxy woobie/I luv Logan!!1! stuff elsewhere, too.

By we, do you mean anyone other than Jim, who's apologised?
It beats the Pimp Chain.
Oh, so true.
Actually, Francis Capra, who plays Weevil, is known for his gold pimp chains and numerous jewelry. Why some guys think this is a good look defeats my understanding, but who am I to say? I know fashion like I know rocket science.

I'm convinced they are separated at birth; as an evidence, I present you: [link]
That's young Francis, not Eliza, by the wy.

I never remember who said what unless I go back and check. I missed the apology though, so thanks.
Sorry I missed the apology, Jim.
Eek. I apparently caused people to go off-topic. The irony is not lost on me.
I just meant that as a Logan and V/L fan, we have to deal with a lot of generalizations about who we are and how we supposedly feel about things. It's just been tough to deal with over the last few months and I'm trying to get myself out of that defensive mode.
I also have a sudden craving for muffalettas. Hmm...
I like Weevil. But he's strangely woobie-ish for a guy who rules by terror and was threatening the even more woobieful best friend of Veronica with unspecified horror.
Yeah, Weevil-as-master-crim is perhaps the most absurd aspect of the show after about the second episode.
I never thought Weevil was supposed to be some master criminal. He's a local gang leader and a thug. He's loyal to people he cares for and has his own code of honor of sorts, but casually violent to people he dislikes. He's somewhere in the spectrum between the rather adorable Elias Koteas character in Some Kind of Wonderful (ironically named, of all things, Duncan) and that homicidal "friend" (actually, more like an attack-dog) of Kenzie and Gennaro in the Dennis Lehane books, whose name I'm memfaulting on.
ETA: I do like the character, especially when they gave him more to do as in the poker episode and in "Hot Dogs" (and when they remember to make him more menacing than cuddly). My understanding is that the actor has signed on for only a limited number of episodes in season 2, so I'm beginning to wonder if they're planning on fading him out. Which would be a pity.
I have this feeling that Weevil may have been meant to have a bigger part (especially if Logan wasn't supposed to be in all season as RT has said) or, perhaps, they had what they thought was an interesting character and/or actor, but then didn't really know what to do with him except be there to help out Veronica at regular intervals.
I was worried the same was going to happen with Wallace for a while, but they managed to work him in better as the season went on.
