He said "good luck getting laid." I watched it twice and I think the closed-captioning supports that. I remember wondering at first about whether Beaver might be gay. They just did an ep on gay students at the school, and why some are afraid to come out. Certainly Dick would not be supportive. But on rewatching, I got a vibe that he had been abused somehow. He was hurt and the comment to Mac came from that. I'm not excusing him for hurting Mac, but I think he's in so much pain that he had to say something to shut the topic down for good.
Would Dick be the abuser? It does happen -- older siblings abusing younger ones. Dick seems to lack any empathy - he's pretty unconcerned about anyone's feelings but his own.
I listened again. It's definitely "Good luck getting laid."
Fine, Narrator, steal my thunder.
I don't think Dick pays enough attention to Beaver to abuse him.
If it was "good luck getting laid", I think I need to switch to being angry at him.
Yeah, I'm down with this.
C could be mad because D knew and didn't stop it.
I don't think that's the point. I think he was sexually molested, probably by Woody Goodman.
I got that vibe when watching, too, though one of the people I read suggested perhaps Big Dick was the perp.
Okay, if he really said that, then I don't care what damage he has, he deserves to be clubbed repeatedly with a clue by 4.
Wow, so many explanations I never considered. I thought he was just doing his stepmother.
Narrator, I'm wondering if the abuser isn't former little league coach, Woody Goodman, and if Beav isn't engineering both Kendall's fall, and Woody's with his little Phoenix Land Trust (Palo Alto II) real estate dealings.
I'm having a moment of cognitive dissonance. Julia is watching some show on Nick called "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" and Cliff plays a janitor, or something. I heard the voice, and nearly jerked my head off my neck.
I didn't hear that. I doubt he said it. If he did in fact say that, I hope Mac wrings his scrawny little neck.
He absolutely said, "Good luck getting laid." I heard it the first time, rewound it for dh, and rewatched today, which is largely why I was so angry with him.
I'm having a wondering. Is Beaver the Mayor of Standoffia because him and Cordy've been at it and he's feeling guilty?
I can't put them together in my head (nor do I want to) but I thought I'd chuck the theory out there.
I don't think so.

I had forgotten about Woody being a little league coach. That gives him access to boys. Sheesh, what a creep.
I'd like it if Beaver was trying to have a little pay-back.
Q - who arranged the bus accident? Was it Woody, to get rid of Beaver or some other kids? (Woody's daughter said that he didn't want her to take the bus back to school.)
It doesn't make sense for it to have been Woody trying to kill Beaver because he knew about the limo.
One of my cohorts on MI.net has this long, involved spec that has Woody and Big Dick working together to keep Peter Ferrer from making the future mayor "the outing of all outings."
Who is Peter Ferrer?

I don't think it was him, but he might have known about something.
