Am I the only one who doesn't quite buy Logan and Veronica getting together?
It's not that I don't *like* them together (the jury's still out on that); it's that it seemed to come out of the blue.

It might come out of the blue, but I sometimes process relationships on TV shows at a kind of 12-year-old girl level, so it doesn't bother me as much. He is pretty and wounded, she is pretty and sassy, and when they kiss, I squee. Very Pavlovian of me.
I sort of saw the chemistry between those two as early as episode 4 (the mail-scam one with lots of flashbacks and Lilly's tribute video at the end) so when they finally smooched, I felt like it was a while coming. Mind you, I think their relationship is hella dysfunctional and I've been seeing bright neon flashes over their heads with the word "DOOMED!" written since they got together. But I bought the relationship the way it was written.

I did too. I had some trouble with Veronica being willing to help Logan when he wanted her to find his mom, but they built up to that with the poker game episode. Once we got the hurt and comfort of the episodes about looking for his mom, I figured (utterly screwed up, doomed) romance wasn't far behind.
Yeah, the poker game episode showed the sharp banter without much acrimony (and Logan being impressed with Veronica's sleuthing skills and card-tricks.) I think the real turning point in their relationship, one that allowed Veronica to accept his plea for help to find his mother, occurred during the eavesdropped conversation from the consellor's office; Logan's genuine grief at Lilly's death, that his nastiness to Veronica was part displaced guilt (not that it excused his behavior), and the whole "what is so great about living?" bit. Well, that scene sort of sucker-punched *me* so maybe I'm projecting.

You mean you're not on the LoVe train? (Sorry. I haven't even started watching, yet. The "LoVe" thing just cracks me up.)

This is also very true. It's the hurt woobie stuff. Gets me every time.

what i didn't buy was the way they acted in M.A.D. it didn't work for me. i wanted to see angst with them working through the way they treated each other for a year and a half. of course, that could just be my masochistic side talking.
I didn't think it came out of nowhere though. i'm like Vonnie. i saw the sexual tension as early as the fourth ep. really...the pilot in hindsight. Logan was always watching Veronica and commenting about her. you know what they say..."thin line between love and hate".
Well, Veronica certainly had some angst over it, though it was mostly a line or two here and there. I also think the fact she kept poking and snooping and trying to find something wrong with Logan (even accusing him of the murder) was at least partially inspired by said angst (the other part being the whole trying to solve the murder thing.) But she seemed to cast a far more critical eye on Logan once they started "dating" than before.

Now, you're just asking for a spankin'

Yeah, I agree they moved rather fast there, but I was willing to go ahead with it because the shiny happy bits served to accentuate the OMG the ANGST! moment at the end. I had more problems with the quick reconciliation in ATttD. Veronica running out on Logan time and time again? I totally buy it because the girl has huge trust issues, but no way she'd have forgiven him that fast for GBH. I didn't buy him being such a fabulous understanding boyfriend either. I expected a lot more rage and guilt and recrimination at the reveal.
