From TPMcafe:

While watching the MSNBC program, CONNECTED, COAST TO COAST with Ron Reagan, a man from the Evergreen Foundation was on air spinning the myth that the President had to "beg" the Governor of Louisiana to take action. Having been on this show several times I called one of the bookers, Susan Durrwatcher, to alert her to the fact that this man was misrepresenting what happened. I offered Susan the following objective, documented facts (see timeline below). Susan thanked me for my "opinion" and said "we just have a different perspective". Stunned, I asked her by what standard of journalism that an objective fact was mere opinion? I asked her to simply look at the documents and correct the record. She declined. I asked her to remove me from the MSNBC list of contacts. I'm sure MSNBC won't miss me and I am certain I will have a happy life without having to subject myself to their unprofessional approach to journalism.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Anyone have a NYT subscription? I wanna avoid paying $3.95 to read this article (on Flying Spaghetti Monsterism): [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Anyone have a NYT subscription?

No subscription to NYT, sorry--but there is this story about the Democrats response to the White House's failures of the past week. I liked Nancy Pelosi's comments:

At a news conference, Pelosi, D-Calif., said Bush's choice for head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency had ''absolutely no credentials.'' She related that she had urged Bush at the White House on Tuesday to fire Michael Brown.

''He said 'Why would I do that?''' Pelosi said.

'''I said because of all that went wrong, of all that didn't go right last week.' And he said 'What didn't go right?'''

''Oblivious, in denial, dangerous,'' she added.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it was archived.

Thanks, brenda!

Oh. It got me in, so I posted. I can email it.

eta: Buuuuut, I closed the window and now it just takes me to an abstract. Bother.

One woman even wrote in to say that she had "conceived the spirit of our Divine Lord," the Flying Spaghetti Monster, while eating alone at the Olive Garden.
"I heard singing, and tomato sauce rained from the sky, and I saw angel hair pasta flying about with little farfalle wings and playing harps," she wrote. "It was beautiful." The Spaghetti Monster, she went on, impregnated her and told her, "You shall name Him ... Prego ... and He shall bring in a new era of love."
flying about with little farfalle wings...

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

tommy, I just emailed it to your gmail account.

If I only had a brain...

Remember Michael D. Brown of FEMA? The one Bush thinks is doing a great job at FEMA?

Well, he isn't losing his great job. Far from it. He's just getting on a deputy to take over operational control of the search-and-rescue and recovery efforts along the Gulf Coast.

Because firing his ass would be admitting that something is wrong.
