Natter .38 Special
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Nothing like calling the cops to report gunfire on your street and have them put you on hold for 4 minutes. By the time I got to report it all the kids (a big gang of them, like 30 or so) had all split.
That's the biggest thing I've ever seen on my street, after 5 years here. Yoiks.
Yoiks indeed, Consuela. I'm glad you're okay.
You know, I wasn't scared at all. But it was a big gang of kids, most of them boys in those hugeass white t-shirts (which make them very easy to spot in the darkness!), all gathered about half a block down the street. Dunno what was going on. Still no cops that I can see.
Guess I'll go watch some Dr. Who.
JamesK you've rolled us over into the 1700s. (Not the century, just Buffista membership). Good job with the odomotering.
Also...Fuck the Yankees! fuckers scoring 5 in the ninth to stay even in the wild card fuckwads
In other news: I'm enjoying Slings and Arrows. I recommend it to all the theater folk hereabout.
More criticism: I've watched two eps of Undeclared. Entertaining but not Freaks and Geeks (so far). Also, S2 of Dead Like Me is not generating a lot of traction so far. What are they doing? Where are they going? I got nothing. (Or possibly, they got nothing. We'll see.)
Connie! Keep your head down. And keep your dog's head down there with you while you're at it. Did you see that they want to build the new A's stadium near Fruitvale?
Fuck the Yankees!
I could not agree more, but they were playing the Royals....

I saw the initial renderings of the proposed stadium, and it looked like they took parts of a bunch of other stadiums (Fenway, Camden Yards, Arlington, Safeco) and did a mashup. It didn't look all that good.
Katrina is becoming a monster Cat. 4. And I'm torn between sympathy for everyone in the path (or people with relatives/friends in the path) and my Okie-boy weather geekness going, "COOL! MEGA-HURRICANE!"

Duelling geekeries in the W household tonight. He keeps talking about wind speeds and flooding possibilities while I'm reading up on the War of 1812 and being all, "Yeah, New Orleans. Battle of, January 1815. Bit of a debacle from a British perspective, and...what, you're talking about 2005? Like, this year?"

Have you heard the Arrogant Worms' song,
The War Of 1812?
Keep your head down.
I am! Spent the last two hours watching Dr. Who. (I'm up to The Doctor Dances. I'm sensing
an adorable love triangle forming.
It's quite fun, and surprisingly unsettling.
There's no room in the Fruitvale for a new stadium. Silly people.

Well, yeah, but a lot of that has to do with the script kiddies who've taken a drill to our odometer cable and added about 50 faked up user names to the db over the last month or so.
