Kaylee: Can I? Zoe: Sure. He's out, though. Kaylee: He did this for me, once.

Silence means security silence means approval

Fuck the Yankees!

I could not agree more, but they were playing the Royals....

Did you see that they want to build the new A's stadium near Fruitvale?

I saw the initial renderings of the proposed stadium, and it looked like they took parts of a bunch of other stadiums (Fenway, Camden Yards, Arlington, Safeco) and did a mashup. It didn't look all that good.

Katrina is becoming a monster Cat. 4. And I'm torn between sympathy for everyone in the path (or people with relatives/friends in the path) and my Okie-boy weather geekness going, "COOL! MEGA-HURRICANE!"

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

my Okie-boy weather geekness going, "COOL! MEGA-HURRICANE!"

Duelling geekeries in the W household tonight. He keeps talking about wind speeds and flooding possibilities while I'm reading up on the War of 1812 and being all, "Yeah, New Orleans. Battle of, January 1815. Bit of a debacle from a British perspective, and...what, you're talking about 2005? Like, this year?"

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Have you heard the Arrogant Worms' song, The War Of 1812?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Keep your head down.

I am! Spent the last two hours watching Dr. Who. (I'm up to The Doctor Dances. I'm sensing an adorable love triangle forming. It's quite fun, and surprisingly unsettling.

There's no room in the Fruitvale for a new stadium. Silly people.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

JamesK you've rolled us over into the 1700s. (Not the century, just Buffista membership). Good job with the odomotering.

Well, yeah, but a lot of that has to do with the script kiddies who've taken a drill to our odometer cable and added about 50 faked up user names to the db over the last month or so.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Er, um, script kiddies? Huh?

Not that I'm not usually foggy at this time of the morning anyway.

Timelies. Guests have been turned out to visit the Acropolis and Ancient Agora. The visit, she is not going so well. It turns out that the GF had dumped our friend and he'd offered to bring her here in a desperate attempt to salvage the relationship. A relationship that was failing on familiar turf is not going to get any more solid while touristing.

Shame, really, because the GF turns out to be smart and cool (she has a Masters in Library Science so she'd fit in here), and told a joke that's provided me with my Halloween costume. It involves a beard and turban, worn over a glittery leotard and accessorized with an AK-47 and ice skates: Oksana bin Laden.

Swouncing

Poking head to post that, unless I'm very much mistaken (and I'm still in summer-class TAing mess, so I may very well be all wrong again and unable to count), today is the second birthday of Casper a.k.a. Eve, flea's daughter. Happy birthday and lots of wishes for a great year!

And I'm off to grade. Again.

[Edit: OK, spelling "wrong again" wrongly should have some ironic significance or something, that had I been able to spell, I should have realized. Lacking that, however, I'll be thankful that I'm grading only in numbers.]
