I just signed up for a buffista gmail account, because I want to get an Google maps API key for the site, and I didn't want to use one of my personal gmail addresses.
The captcha code? unded. Nifty.
Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.

Huh. The reason I wanted the API code was to get us our own integrated little map. I've spent the evening tinkering with the API, and made a table and was relearning Javascript so I could code a map where you can drag and drop your marker and leave a note.
Then I stumbled onto this phoogle, and it seems the upshot of it is is that if I add a text field to everyone's user record, and they type as much of their address in they're comfortable, I can display a map. So you can be all 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500 or Israel, depending on your level of comfort.
Maybe I'll go ahead and just do that. The drag and drop thing can be phase 2.
That is cool! I just typed my state in that field on my profile page if you want to test out how it's working. Also, I can't sleep. But that's not what this is about.
I know! I just noticed you were on the map.
Now is a nice time to be a West coaster, because hopefully it will be nice and full when I wake up.
Okay, I'll tidy that up tomorrow, and see if it's possible to add it to the css site. Beddie bye for me.
Populate, people, populate!
The new map rocks!!
As I said in natter, WOOT! very cool map!
I love the new map!
When more people have added their locations, will there be a link in the sidebar (where the link to the FAQ is)?

That can certainly be done.
I was surprised at how easy it was. Discovering that it could eat text locations for breakfast...I wasn't expecting that. I'm still wondering if I should do a javascript version where you can drag your marker, but I don't really see the point. This is very tidy and simple.
