You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

But the vowels are the vowels! You don't need a mnemonic!

Exactly. That goes for the planets, too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But the vowels are the vowels! You don't need a mnemonic!

Yeah, but you gotta learn the vowels at some point.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They're the ones that aren't consonants. Next you'll be telling me they have a mnemonic for the alphabet.

I think I need a mnemonic for 'ita.'

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The villain has a villa in the mountains.

This is a great one.

I wish everyone would tell me what they're mnemonizing/acronymizing! Bees In Arbors Add Mystery!*

I just pasted

Bad boys ravish our young girls behind victory garden walls

into Google to see what it stood for (it's late here), and the number 1 hit is a Buffy/Spike fanfic.

Anyway, I did find some for the Genus-Species list: [link]

I'm more likely to have to remember what acronyms stand for than use those mnemonics. The full words work best for me.

Raq, it's the order of the colored lines on a resistor.

Thrive to spite them

The sometimes y thing always throws me. I went to a new school in 3rd grade and they taught the vowels differently than my other school, and I remember feeling stupid because I didn't know their way.

I can't remember what the difference was, just that it made me feel dumb.

Thanks, as I was never ever ever going to get that.
