Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No! He's mine!

Okay, ticket purchased, very exciting. Now I need to do shopping for Father's Day. Just one more productive work morning for ita.

Pfah. There really should be more (easily locatable) tennis-related DVDs. Best of Wimbledon or US Open or biographies of Arthur Ashe, or something.

So far we're looking at Collateral, a Richard Pryor concert DVD, maybe a Sidney Poitier boxed set, but I'd really like to mix it up a little.

Relatively speaking. My poor father will probably be wondering why we have ignored his love of ... bonsai, or something.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It's way too early for me to be worrying about Father's Day. I've got my brother's birthday, which I already missed, and my parents' anniversary before then. I normally don't make too big a deal out of the 'rents anniversaries, but they had their 40th last year and neither my mom nor I can remember what I got them, so I feel like I should get them something this year.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Okay, ticket purchased, very exciting.

Just remember not to step on any monkeys.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I just found a really cute handbag with a long strap at the Marshalls downstairs in my building! After several months of intermittently checking their offerings and finding nothing but ugly handbags with long straps or cute handbags with ridiculously short straps.

(Not to mention ugly handbags with ridiculously short straps, which seem to breed like rabbits this year....)

Apparently the big worry is being held up at shitpoint. But what a story for krav that would make! It's not like we don't already use the term "oh shit defense."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have not only a card but ALSO a small tchotchke for my father, which is more than enough. Also cards for the family birthdays we're celebrating this weekend.

I just ate a blue Fla-Vor-Ice that was so big, it was almost Too Much. And for only fifty cents!

I have a gift certificate for dad (never underestimate the joy of choosing your own gift) that is being mailed form Cabela's directly to him. Gotta go get a card.
