Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

Connie, are you in direct danger of the potential flooding?

Not where I am. When my portion of town was built, the pioneers had the good sense to leave the banks of the river unbuilt on. All those fancy new houses where the developers said, "And they'll have a lovely view of the lazy, winding river from their living rooms", now ... I shouldn't snicker at stupid rich people, but I do.

Thrive to spite them

I snicker at all the stupid people who build on barrier islands -- they are barrier islands for a reason and hurricanes are going to rip through them.

It's supposed to be a rough hurricane season again. Technically it doesn't start until June 1, but it's already started.

And there was an article in the paper that the Red Cross did a poll about hurricane preparedness and the majority of people living in areas effected the worse weren't prepared, thought they could get out of dodge within thirty minutes, and generally didn't think they'd be hit by a hurricane.

I'm hoping none of these people lost their houses last year.

Now tagless for your comfort.

vw, my in-laws had some stealth porn on their computer, too. And I know for a fact they didn't download it. I think they unwittingly downloaded it with a media player I wasn't familiar with. I just cleaned it off for them and warned them of downloading any more stuff.

Mostly lurking...

Good to know, Cashmere. I've deleted it. I'll watch to see if more shows up.

I'm going through my stuff trying to pack. Right now packing means putting stuff into plastic containers rather randomly. Since I'm moving across town and we aren't getting a truck I figure this will work.

And I'm wearing my tiara.

I had no idea I had this much stuff. And some of it I don't want to get rid of, but I'm not reallyusing it either. Like the reams of notebook paper.

I found stuff I meant to mail to people ages ago. And a really cool magnet I got that I like but won't be going on my fridge due to it's racy nature. I don't know where I'm going to put it.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

I know there are crafty Bitch types. I have a sassy dress to wear to a wedding in August, and I wanted to maybe crochet myself a shawl to go with it. But I've only crocheted with yarn before, largely hats and scarves. Would something with a lighter thread (particularly something so big) be too difficult/impossible/etc.?

Not at all--there are some good rayon/rayon blends that will work up quickly on a big hook w/o being overly heavy. Try Patternworks.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Ah, our first trip to the Outer Banks. Mandatory evacuation because of Hurricane Felix. Took 2 hours to drive from Nags Head to Manteo -- a distance of about 5 miles.

Squee! Thanks, Anne.
