The back continues to slowly improve. I'm so glad we bought this laptop; otherwise I'd be going crazy here. And now that I have faith it's getting better, I can kinda enjoy the enforced relaxation. At least, I enjoy the part where I get to pass off on all diaper changes! Can't complain about having extra time to read, either. Though as soon as I can sit up a little more, I'm going to try to write and judge some contest entries.
DH bought me a cane. I never expected to own such a thing at the ripe old age of 34, but it helps a lot. And our neighbor is a deacon at our church, and she dropped by this morning with some frozen dinners from the church stash, which also helps a lot.
OH, and I think Annabel has worked out that I can't get up much. Every once in awhile, she'll just come over and stand next to me so I can reach out and hug her, and then she'll carry on playing.
Susan, as soon as you said you had a cane I went to ebay out of idle curiosity, and now I think I'm in love. It's just possible that something like this is exactly what you need.
eta: Or possibly this. And most certainly this.
roasted garlic flavored jelly bean?
No worse than Buttered Popcorn, and that's been around for years.
Buttered Popcorn jelly beans are weird. I like them but only a few at a time. They are very good with Root Bear flavored jelly beans.
I actually like them too. But because I like them, I can't condemn Roasted Garlic ones without trying them.
I also really like the Grass flavored ones in Bertie Botts. Don't ask me why. Vomit and Booger, not so much.
JZ, those are gorgeous. Though I hope I don't need a cane for long enough to justify anything but the cheap one from Walgreen's!
No worse than Buttered Popcorn, and that's been around for years.
I gave one to my husband once because I didn't like them. He has never forgiven me.
If you eat a buttered popcorn jellybean and a blueberry jellybean at the same time, it tastes like a blueberry muffin.
Susan, I'm seriously thinking about getting the peacock cane and stashing it in a closet somewhere, on the assumption (borne out by all four be-caned grandparents) that I'll need it someday, and if I wait until then I'll never find anything so beautiful again.
ebay also lists a jaunty walking-stick for boys. I'm seriously tempted to get it for Emmett.
