Dana, I dunno if you've seen this yet, but Hth is writing Sheppard/McKay/Ronon. Or, well, Sheppard/McKay, McKay/Ronon. We may get to S/M/R at some point. Blisteringly hot. [link]

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
I saw it yesterday (or today, around 3AM) and bookmarked it until I had the concentration to appreciate it properly. I should load it on my Palm and take it on the plane.
Edit: Thanks for the heads-up.

Just don't let your seat-mate read it over your shoulder. No, really.
Oh, good god. Shalott answered the Harlequin challenge -- with a Male Order Bride story.
It is, of course, highly entertaining. And hot. If, you know, you go for that sort of thing. And by 'go for' I do certainly mean porn.
This is a crazy-ass idea, inspired in part by debg's bake-a-thon (see Press). I'm not proposing anything just yet, but I want to see if people think this idea has merit or is a really, really bad idea.
What about a fic-a-thon to raise money for hurricane relief? A possible way this could work is that writers would volunteer to write two to three fics in specified fandoms. Fans could then request--on a first come, first served basis--fics from their favorite author/fandom in exchange for a pledge to donate $__.00 to the Red Cross or some other designated relief org.
2005 Multiverse stories are out. [link] Woo-hoo!
I'm reading the one in which Ivan Vorpatril ends up running into the Serenity gang, and it's highly entertaining.
Would original fiction be welcome? I have a plot bunny involving the NO of my era, and if I were a published author, I'd be talking to my editor about doing a benefit anthology, but as it stands I don't know what to do with it.

Hmm. I don't see why not. There's probably a way to phrase things so that someone would pledge on as-yet unwritten original fic.
Edit: Actually, one of my LJ challenge communities (contrelamorte) is actually a group of four related communities: one is for slash fic, one is for anime-related slash fic, a third is for gen-het, and another is for original slash (there was a fifth group for original het/gen, but it's gone). That might be a way to arrange things in a more or less central location.
Susan, if you have an agent, or a friend who has an agent, or a connection at a publishing house, it's still a great idea to pitch professionally. The amount of time it'll take to get a book through the publishing system is still bupkes compared to how long NO will need the help.
