Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think it's the math training; whenever I hear "All A are B", I IMMEDIATELY start trying to think of a counterexample

Okay. I went back and edited in the "most." So although I'm insisting continually I didn't think anyone would take it as 100%, now I've SAID it that way from the start. Otherwise, I got nothing.

If I only had a brain...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I prefer JZ to dress up and wear makeup, and encouraged her to groom her eyebrows.

A woman's style is more important to me than her bodytype.

But I think of style as an expression of an inner life, not just an artificial gilding or seeking the approval of anybody. (Hence, my reverence toward Jilli.)

Though it's generally a mistake to generalize about things using me as a baseline.

I don't believe that "Most guys like sports" is valid.

"Most" means more than half to me. So I think that statement is probably valid considering the number of ESPN offshoots thrive on cable.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

(catching up)

Basically, I dress and groom for me.

That would be me. Yes, Pete likes it when I'm dressed up extra Gothic-Victorian fancy, but he also thinks I'm cute when I'm shuffling around the house in my jammies and no makeup (and usually lurching toward the coffeemaker).

I know I feel better if I'm wearing makeup and nice clothes. They make me happy.

Oh! Betsy, you do know that Holy Clothing has a web site so you don't have to go through eBay auctions, right? Let me see if I can find the link ...

Please for me too! Clothes that fit that won't bankrupt me!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

But I think of style as an expression of an inner life

Do you consider the inverse to be true, also?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I never cared much - but I like to look appropriate for the occassion - look what I got - Mr. always appropriate. Matt has some sloppy clothes - but the are for working out. I never have to worry about what he will look like. and he never has to worry about me. He does - but that's becasue he will err on the conservative side.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I think womens' grooming has shifted in its level of social "obligation." Which is a really really good thing and now its more a matter of personal expression -- but until about a week ago and, it seems like, from the dawn of time before that it was a major valuation of her "worth".

And I think when people do keep up that value judgment they're more likely to be women than men.

To me "inner life" seems like it may be pushing it. I guess it can be that -- but a lot of people just consider it time they'd rather be doing ______.
