Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh, my! What a day it's been so far. The gist? My idea for my senior honors thesis has not only been approved, but my advisor thinks that there will be a fight over who sponsors the project. Also, I will probably get money from a scholarship fund to pay for my trip to Chicago at the end of the summer to interview my grandmother for said project.
Also, the coordinator of the honors program thinks I am the perfect replacement for a girl that is graduating this semester, so I may have a job!
Now, if only I have such an easy time over at the CCDE office. I'm not holding my breath, though. These other things have just been too easy. There needs to be a karmic balance at some point.
Please do tell more about this
I actually don't really know the details. It's being hosted/run/taught(?) by a woman I kinda know, who's quite outrageous. I'm sure it'll be interesting. But I'm not sure I really want to go because god only knows who the OTHER people will be.
Yay Baby Isaac!
Good luck VW and Anne.
I am making a middle-of-the-day post because I am not at work, because I feel like CRAP. However, I have to go to work to get some stuff for a trip I'm going on tomorrow. Grrr. So I'm showered and dressed, and sitting here not wanting to go at all. But I'm afraid once I get there, I won't be able to pull off the "I'm so crappy that I just want to find my stuff and leave" and will get sucked into doing other things.
These other things have just been too easy. There needs to be a karmic balance at some point.
Honey, I suspect you've paid in advance for this easiness. Very good news!
Great news, vw!
And, um, well, -t already said it better than I can.
Oh for the love of...
My coworker/assistant sent out a document with the heading "Venereal Information." (Should have been "general".)
Thank dog it went to a consultant, not a client, and to one particular consultant - one of about three I can think of who would react the way he did: left me a voicemail that's almost incoherent, he's laughing so hard.
Still.

{{meara}} I hope you can shoot in, do what you need, and shoot right back out.
I'm wishing I hadn't come to work today. I woke up with, what I thought, was a sinus headache. I'm now nauseated and light hurts me. Yep, migraine. I want to go home and lay down in the dark.
Ha! brenda, was it a spellcheck gone horribly wrong?
By all means, Daniel. I am honored.
There's a Jaffa in our midst.
Go, Anne and VW.
Um, much coffee consumed a'ready. Serenity trailer viewed multiple times, and shared with DH. Today's watchword in the House o' Bev is "EeeeeeeeE!"
Can I sustain this level of bounce till 9/30? We shall see.
Ha! brenda, was it a spellcheck gone horribly wrong?
You know it.
I'm laughing, but jesus. A fucking lucky escape that the doc went to this particular person. There could have been an unbeliveable shitstorm otherwise.
