Here in North Carolina. It's where I be living for the next 2-3 years at least. I'm mostly interested in immigration law, however, which I can practice anywhere as long as I've passed the bar somewhere (or so I've been led to believe).
The bar itself is looming over me like a giant sword. Graduation doesn't even seem fun. I will be so relieved when it's over.
I seem to recall before it was known that the male contributed the sperm and the female contributed the egg, that one theory was that the male sort of planted a whole mini-baby, but can't--for the life of me--remember which society, or when.
You are thinking of the humunculous theory (I don't guarantee the spelling on that one, btw). And as to which society, well, um, ours (meaning the West); the theory is also fairly modern AFAIK (meaning the Enlightenment, not Ancient Greece or some such).
It was also theorized that the male's left testicle produced girls and the right produced boys, so if you wanted to ensure the sex of your baby, you tied off the undesired testicle. Needless to say, this technique was flawed.
Timelies.
Yay Stephanie!
I am in the middle of remodel hell here in my office. Today, we have no faxes. This is very much not good.
Send booze and cabana boys. Or girls.
I clearly have not consumed enough caffeine for a testicle bondage conversation.
hunh - just spoke with an old boss and she is trying to recruit me for a position they have open. Not sure I'd want to go back to that place, but looking back it was MUCH better than the last two supervisors. She's not sure she can afford me, but we'll talk.
It's nice to be a desired commodity.
Now to the tasks at hand. sending off letters.
The bar itself is looming over me like a giant sword.
If you haven't signed up for a bar review course, I recommend one. At the very least, it structures your study for the bar. (And yes, I'm a member of NC Bar.)
And I don't know exactly how immigration works, but my experience with other areas of the federal government doesn't contradict your belief.
Back where I was a bagel shop cashier, we had the BEST veggie cream cheese. I loved that stuff. Fun to make too-they let me use the chopper and would laugh at me as I did voices for the poor doomed vegetables. I liked it best on a toasted spinach bagel(I know, bagel purists cringe, but this was not the northeast) .
Graduation doesn't even seem fun. I will be so relieved when it's over.
A friend of mine was adamant that we not celebrate anything until she got done with the bar because she was too cranky to appreciate anything.
hmm - I do not like cream cheese on toasted bagels. Butter on a toasted raison-cinnamon is my second favorite bagel.
Congrats on passing the Ethics Exam, Stephanie! Wow, you've got a lot going on right now.
I like the cream cheese to melt a bit. A warm bagel will also do. I don't like bagels cold.
