You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Here's one for DXM (or any fan of subtlety, pacing, mastery and narrative). A lovely piece about Vin Scully.

Heh. Way ahead of you, David. Check my LJ.

Up with the sun

I would probably need very little encouragement to do karaoke, but thankfully it's never come up as The Thing To Do. I have no voice (I can carry a tune more or less, but I'm VERY breathy and don't have much range) and that makes me sad.

I have a list as long as my arm of songs I would like to sing, if I someday wake up with a pretty voice.

(Yes, I have a complex about this, why do you ask?)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. Way ahead of you, David. Check my LJ.

And slowly our brains all orient towards the true north of Opening Day...

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

"Son Of A Preacher Man" and "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" also do nicely.

Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that if I'm ever as brave as I was last night. I think, though, I'll just remain a one trick song pony. I got a decent enough reaction with that song, and I'm not willing to push it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Of course, I also like "We Built This City."

I used to turn the volume up on Night Flight whenever this one came on.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

So bored. I would like to go home now.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

omigod, that facial was EXACTLY what i needed. My skin feels fabulous, though blotchy from the extraction and brow wax.

And now to deep condition my hair, maybe take a nap. I just had lunch and a bit of chocolate.

Damn. I could live like this.

Oh, you could totally do "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Boots." All about the sultry attitude - as is "Fever."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What about "Too Darned Hot"? That's in a similar place in my head.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

For those with a limited range, Ringo Starr songs are your friends, plus everybody knows them.
