I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

Joseph Fiennes would, but couldn't

move out and draw fire

You know, a young Christopher Lee would also be a good Bond.

What about Damian Lewis, or is he too baby-faced?

Oooooh, yes, Jeremy Northam! I'd love to see him as Bond. Especially in any Bond gets naked and seduces the villian's henchwomen (or henchmen, c'mon it's the 2000s) scenes.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Much as I love to see Northam's characters seducing guys, I don't think the world is quite ready for filmmakers to take that many liberties with Bond.

Ann, that's a ferret.

The world, maybe not.

My imagination is another matter.

Well, you know, for the stories from when he was in the Royal Navy...

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

The real trouble is that to cast Bond, you really want someone who is forty and has seen plenty of the world. You know, somebody with experience written on his face. But you don't want to cast a Bond who is really forty, because he will age out of the movie franchise too quickly. (I think they pushed it as hard as they could with Pierce Brosnan, and then said "Bond does not have gray chest hair.")

It's just like all those casting directors out there who are like, "Find me a Steve McQueen -- who is 22 years old!" Guess what: when Steve McQueen was 22, he wasn't nearly as sexy and would probably have broken into your car as soon as sign a contract with you.

But, but, but . . . pretty! And I want it.

Oh, ok, you're probably right.

Still, in Calliworld there'd be three of these Bond movies already, with unrated versions available on dvd.

I can't even.

Last time this conversation came around, I think Sean and I suggested Jason Statham, but ita (I think?) thought he was too beefy. Connery was a pretty good size (body builder in his time).

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

He's too smug and has an afflecky chin.
