But I just never got the idea that the specific party Drusilla threw in "Surprise" was a birthday party.
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

For these one-a-day series, he only watches once. Some of the weekly series, he'll rewatch (like he watched the Sherlock finale a couple times before posting).
I thought Drusilla threw a party because Angelus was coming back, which she knew, being psychic.
I always thought it was a party because she had her full strength back.
I thought she was throwing a party because she wanted to.
I don't think I ever thought about what kind of party it was.
Me neither, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a birthday party or any of the other themes suggested upthread...

Also, I just like watching Mark freak out. I don't think we were even this unspoiled when we were watching it the first time ... he doesn't even have the benefit of "next on Buffy" previews. It's very odd, and strangely endearing.
