When I reviewed the transcript, I realized that that last scene is totally weird because you don't actually know what's going on. So, that seemed like as good an explanation as any. Especially because I didn't want to hint at what was really happening, assuming Mark didn't figure it out. Which he didn't, although one of the posters who is also watching for the first time did, so good for her.
Xander ,'Conversations with Dead People'
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
Are you saying Dru can't have a birthday if she wanted to? Heck, she could have seen something in a store window and demanded one on the spot. It's not like Spike would say no.
Does Mark just watch the episode once and the write down his reactions and that's it or does he watch it multiple times?
Because if he's only watching it once and getting that excited and not rewatching I can see how he'd miss some information.
Are you saying Dru can't have a birthday if she wanted to?
I would deny Dru *nothing.* I'm no fool.
But I just never got the idea that the specific party Drusilla threw in "Surprise" was a birthday party.
For these one-a-day series, he only watches once. Some of the weekly series, he'll rewatch (like he watched the Sherlock finale a couple times before posting).
I thought Drusilla threw a party because Angelus was coming back, which she knew, being psychic.
I always thought it was a party because she had her full strength back.
I thought she was throwing a party because she wanted to.
I don't think I ever thought about what kind of party it was.
Me neither, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a birthday party or any of the other themes suggested upthread...
