While I am sort of baffled at his complete misread of Drusilla, I do kind of get the criticism that her main character trait as of now is "crazy." Mostly she says a lot of things that don't make sense, which is perfectly entertaining but perhaps doesn't say a lot about her as a person? I think Juliet Landau brought a lot to the character and made her feel like there was someone behind all those bizarre lines.

It makes me sad how much he doesn't seem to understand Drusilla. For me, she is such a big part of enjoying S2.

edit: They remind me of some of the people in the '70s, who have just discovered something radical that makes them different from the mainstream. A lot of them probably are very sincere in their passion, but they haven't learned how to apply it to real life.

I'm not sure how to start articulating my disagreement with this. Drusilla is not going to be a sensitive depiction of mental illness, compliant with any version of the DSM. She isn't evil because she's mentally ill, but she is evil *and* mentally ill. And psychic. I'm not sure what he wants from her at this point. A nuanced and intimate portrayal of her character is pretty impossible, for a number of reasons.

But if he really thinks she's there to *irritate* Spike, I don't think there'd be anything I could say on Dru's rather mesmerising behalf.

I can't wait until she kills Kendra.
