heh. poor Denise. i never felt like those were as bad as the "dead lesbian cliche" fights were though. they just lasted...longer. at least white wings and Ojagwers have shortened the debate these days to "is not/is so".

Which of course is the problem with episodic television -- actors have free will. Of course, the most famous example of this was Oz leaving. I totally believe Joss when he says that Tara died the death Oz was supposed to have.
I really got bored with Buffy defending Spike with "he has a soul", which she seemed to forget that Warren had a soul and it didn't stop him from doing bad.
The problem being, of course, that having the soul fundamentally means he was a different entity than unsouled Spike. More or less. Soulless Spike is the demon driving through the filter of William's memories. Souled Spike is William himself, in a vampire's body. I dislike a lot of how it was handled, but I actually agree with Buffy's sentiment.
