I don't hate Willow. I just don't get the extreme Willow love in fandom. She got away with an awful lot over the years, I think maybe because Ms. Hannigan's so cute, and so good at playing the part.
I just saw the sub from Angel on Antiques Roadshow. Apparently it was rented from 20th Century Props and cost $2 million to build. It was fun.
Oh, I wonder if that episode will run again. How fun.
Apparently it's something called Antiques Roadshow FYI. It's kind of funny, as I haven't watched the show for more than a minute or two in probably a year or more. Then, I'm bored and knitting, so I didn't change the channel, and up pops the Angel sub. They even mentioned Angel; I didn't just recognize it. I think it must have been fate, or perhaps someone is taking pity on me missing so much of the Serenity stuff coming out.
It's on PBS here, in fact, it might be produced by the Boston PBS station. I'll have to remember to check.
I still kind of wish they hadn't restored Angel's soul again in "Orpheus." I so would have been there if they'd just tacked the two extra letters onto the title permanently
"Slorpheus?" "Orpheusic?" "Morpheusy?" "Dorphemus?"
Oh. Different title.

ITA. Plus, I think Willow's the character most viewers identify with.
I think so, too, but sometimes, it seems to me like the identification hides some of her ugly bits, or something. I think Willow is a fantastic character, and Aly played her with perfect pitch. I don't think Willow would be my first choice as a friend in the 'verse.
I think it's that sense people identify with her, they hope that they'll get away with stuff too.
But I over-identify with Xander, so I guess according to role I should forgive Willow everything.

See, I identify with the ugly bits too. Much more than I ever identified with the ugly bits of Buffy or Xander.
With Jessica about that. There are relatively few of Willow's mistakes/transgressions that I couldn't see myself making under similar circumstances. Though I wouldn't think cutesy apologies and cookie baking would make up for them.
Ewww. Cordy is giving Connor something real on my TV right now.
I identified a lot with Buffy's ugly bits. We share a lot of negative personality traits, which is why I always flinch a little when I see people in fandom talk about how they'd never be able to stand a bitch like Buffy in real life. And also why I'm confused by the argument that Buffy is, by virtue of those negative traits, a masculine character, thus making Spike the abused and feeble woman.
What. Ev.

Crap. Left the notebook in the car. Have to finish Connor/Faith post NFA. Thanks for the reminder.
Mmm. Something real.
