Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Hi. I just skipped 600 posts, and I'm not quite sure why we're quoting TV openings, but it's entertaining to read.

It occurs to me that if you replaced "quoting TV openings" with whatever was currently being discussed, this is the Natter mantra.

Emily! Your tag!

What? What? Did I forget to zip it? Is there a tag showing?

Also, feh. For vod y tsar znayet what reason, I'm looking at wedding dresses. Which is double depressing since a) not getting married anytime soon! and b) have already lost figure which would look good in these dresses. Man, I so love the sheath look, and I can't do it anymore!

Karma is a cat, sleeping in my lap cuz it loves me. ~TS

For sumi:

My name is Sydney Bristow. Seven years ago I was recruited by a secret branch of the CIA called SD-6. I was sworn to secrecy, but I couldn't keep it from my fiancé. And when the head of SD-6 found out, he had him killed. That's when I learned the truth : SD-6 is not part of the CIA, I've been working for the very people I thought I was fighting against. So, I went to the only place that could help me take them down. Now I'm a double agent for the CIA, where my handler is a man named Michael Vaughn. Only one other person knows the truth about what I do - another double agent inside SD-6. Someone I hardly know : my father.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love Google:

  • "Running from oppression, yearning for freedom, he came to America. But when he is falsely accused of murder, he must run again searching for the truth... the hunter and the hunted."

  • "This is the story of a time long ago. A time of myth and legend when the ancient Gods were petty and cruel and they plagued mankind with suffering. Only one man dared to challenge their power...Hercules. Hercules possessed a strength the world had never seen. A strength surpassed only by the power of his heart. He journeyed the Earth battling the minions of his wicked stepmother, Hera, the all-powerful Queen of the Gods. But wherever there was evil, wherever an innocent would suffer, there would be...HERCULES."

  • "In time of ancient Gods, Warlords and Kings, a land in turmoil cried out for a hero. She was Xena, a mighty princess forged in the heat of battle. The power. The passion. The danger. Her courage will change the world."

  • "I had the perfect life. Until I was in a coma for six years. And then I woke up and found my fiancée married to another man. My son doesn't know who I am. Everything has changed. Including me. One touch and I can see things. Things that happened. Things that will happen. You should see what I see."

  • "This is the story of one of America's great unsung heroes. I mean you've seen him but you never knew who he was. You've cheered for him and cried for him and women have wanted to die for him. But did he ever get any credit or the girl? No! He's what we call the "Stuntman" and the reason I'm talking so fondly about him is, well because it's me, Colt Seaver. Anyway, picture work isn't wall-to-wall employment so maybe you wonder how a guy keeps his head together? Well, one way is to wait by the phone and wait and wait. The other is to take an occasional job with the court system of the United States of America where a man is considered innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately sometimes a lot of these people get out of jail on what we call bail and they'd run like hell!...and that's where I come in. I sometimes pick up rent money trying to find them and bring them back to justice...and that reminds me of a very interesting case."

  • "Knight Rider...a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law."

  • "There are pretenders among us. Geniuses with the ability to be become anyone they want to be. In 1963 a corporation known as the Centre isolated a young pretender named Jarod and exploited his genius for their research. Then one day their pretender ran away..."

  • "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 Schlameel, Schlamaazal Hassenpepper Incorporated."

  • "My name is Rhoda Morgenstern. I was born in the Bronx, New York in December of 1941. I've always felt responsible for World War II. The first thing I remember liking that liked me back was food. I had a bad puberty; it lasted seventeen years. I'm a high school graduate. I went to art school. My entrance exam was on a book of matches. I decided to move out of the house when I was twenty-four. My mother still refers to this as the time I ran away from home. Eventually, I ran to Minneapolis, where it's cold and I figured I'd keep better. Now I'm back in Manhattan. [In a louder voice] New York, this is your last chance!"

  • "This is my boss, Jonathan Hart, a self-made millionaire, he's quite a guy. This is Mrs H., she's gorgeous, she's one lady who knows how to take care of herself. By the way my name is Max. I take care of both of them, which ain't easy cause when they met it was murder"

  • "You got big dreams? You want fame? Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying--in sweat."

  • "Extraordinary crimes against the people and the state had to be avenged by agents extraordinary. Two such people are John Steed, top professional, and his partner, Emma Peel, talented amateur. Otherwise known as The Avengers."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

  • "I was falsely accused of a hideous crime and sentenced to life in prison. One night I was taken from my cell to a place called Section One, the most covert anti-terrorist group on the planet. Their ends are just, but their means are ruthless. If I don't play by their rules, I die."

  • "What you are about to see is real. The litigants on the screen are not actors. They are genuine citizens who, having filed their claims in a real small claims court, have been persuaded to drop their suits there and have them settled here, in this forum...THE PEOPLE'S COURT."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Knight Rider...a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law."

Yes!

What is even happening?

Steve Austin, Astronaut. A man barely alive...Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before, stronger, faster...
