'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Timelies! I hope to do a better job keeping up than yesterday, which got busy at work and at home later. On the other hand, work accomplished some good neat stuff, and home stuff was fun.

And even though I had to drive a friend home, I got her to help clean off my car, so I have wheels again.

What is even happening?

It's a weird phenomenon--that journalfen fandom wank thing Plei linked to, upstream. It is sort of self perpetuating, isn't it? What's interesting to me is the people who seemingly post to the fandom wank journal for attention ("look how snarky and superior I can be"), while making accusations about the people they're accusing of the fandom wanking, of being snarky and superior. Maybe it's the crossover audience that's most intriguing. It's...something.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Where is everybody? The cat woke me up a little before 6:00 by licking my nose, and I couldn't fall back to sleep, and now I need to be entertained.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Plus we can read it, and feel all superior ourselves for staying above it all.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Our office girl scout delivered the cookies last week. Then she leaves a note saying, by the way, I won't be selling cookies next year but my sister will in 2007. 2007! Don't you think this is information we should have had before making our cookie decisions? I mean, if we'd have known we had to stock up for two years....

That's how it was for me at first, and I enjoyed that aspect of it. But now I feel dirty for wondering about it, at all. But I do wonder about it. I feel like I am missing something.

How did it come to be, do you know?

Where is everybody? The cat woke me up a little before 6:00 by licking my nose, and I couldn't fall back to sleep, and now I need to be entertained.

I'm unable to entertain you. I have had a cream tragedy. The other day, I thought my coffee (with newly purchased, and expiration-date-way-off light cream) tasted funny. Now I'm more of a black/no-sugar coffee drinker, but lately, have added cream, particularly if I'm going to drink a lot of it, because it gives me less heartburn. So last night on the way home, we stopped and got more cream. I had my first cup black/no-sugar, as usual, but then decided I wanted cream for the rest.

This batch curdled.

How can I entertain you under these circumstances? Sheeesh. You're so demanding, Lee.

Oh, see, brenda understands the harsh realities of life.

brenda, I could only be sorrier if I had managed to purchase some cookies this year myself, and if I had cream that wouldn't curdle.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Poor Cindy. I hope you can get some uncurdled cream soon.

I still want other people to entertain me though.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hell, this round is making our worst discussions in B'crazy look friendly.

Well, most of us in Bureacracy are friends, and even when that's not the case there's a fair amount of pressure to play nicely. Those sort of governors don't seem to exist in the wider fic-writing fandom. I'm amused that I got in pretty much on the ground floor on this one, rather than finding out about stuff months after the fact. And I don't even write fic!

Doing a photomanip of Gunn wearing golf clothes and eating a Wonderbread sandwich with mayonaisse would really be throwing kerosine on the flames, wouldn't it? he said innocently...
