Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If it has a sight, it's a rifle.

I thought some shotguns had scopes. I'm not positive, though.

shotgun pellets (what are they really called?)

Shot.

Occasionally it's referred to as "buckshot."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

No, you're right, in fact I think Homecoming had one, though I wasn't positive it was a shotgun. Um, you might use them for turkey. I'm trying to give a rule of thumb.

ETA: also, not all that many shotguns have two barrels, but you won't see a rifle with it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is one barrel vs two a rule of thumb? I am a gun idiot.

All two-barrel guns (that are not handguns) are shotguns.

I'm telling you bon bon, you should hang out with my mom. After all, she's got the reloader in the basement.

Are all long one-barrel guns rifles?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Are all long one-barrel guns rifles?

No.

eta: I mean, this could include machine guns, for instance.

Crap, just saw bon's edit:

I think I'll add this back to the list of things it's not worth it for me to figure out/remember.

My parents made my bedroom into a "reloading room."

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Two barrels is automatically a shotgun. If it's loaded by either breaking the gun in half, or by using a pump underneath the barrel, it's a shotgun. If it has a bolt, or has an ammunition magazine in front of the trigger, it's a rifle.
