What was funny was that this morning, there was salt EVERYWHERE on the roads. Piles gathering in the gutters. Huge salt trucks idling right off main roads.
And this was nearly 2 hours before it started snowing. The roads were dry.
Of course, I'll bet they don't get around to plowing (or they wait until it is over sometimes, ) so I expect to be driving home on slightly slushy packed snow.
The butt bow was about a foot south of the butt.
That makes it sound like a satin dingleberry.

eta: I just realized that I currently have no photo ID. So currently I can't fly.
As much as I would love a snow day, I see no reason to expect one.
public service announcement: when you get invites, RSVP. I have one RSVP (a no) for an event on Wednesday. Almost 50 invites were sent. Phone Number as well as email address were provided. My day is calling and emailing follow ups.
Oh man, you totally just shamed me into RSVPing to my friend's shower next weekend. I mean, they know I'm coming, but I hadn't actually called myself. Am I a grownup or not? So I called.
We're supposed to get 1/2" here. I feel left out.
I have a cousin who lives on the other side of the lake in Michiana, and they're supposed to get hit hard (up to 16" in the next few days). Of course, they grew up outside of South Bend, so they're used to it.
Yeah, the lake-effect snow usually goes East.
I'm wondering if there's gonna be a web broadcast of the start of Steve Fossett's flight. 'Cuz I read here [link] that his plane has never been tested at the weight it will be when he tries to take off. (The plane's weight at takeoff will be 83% fuel, an unheard of percentage.)
Fossett admitted to a press conference: "It will be very scary to take off in a plane this heavy."
While I hope he makes it. But the voyer in me wants to see what happens....
Penelope is not as curvy as Salma, but she does have curves.
She used to, but she lost them when she transitioned to Foreign Film Star to Hollywood Star. She needs to get back to Spain and eat paella until her figure returns.
They're using the Kansas airport because it has one of the longest runways in the U.S.--two miles long. (It was built for testing Flying Fortresses before they were sent into WWII.) Hopefully, he'll be able to get airborne in those two miles.
